Keratin Tips

Philocaly Keratin tips are individual extensions applied to the natural hair using a hot fusion technique. They use a silicone additive to help protect strands from damage by creating a coating, while allowing for free movement and a naturally layered texture.  Use keratin tips for full applications or as a hybrid method with Philocaly wefts to fill in smaller sections, such as the front hairline and nape.

Stylists and clients alike love keratin hair extensions because they are natural, long-lasting and one of the oldest and trusted extension methods on the market.

Each strand has a small and flat shaped tip that holds all the individual hairs together. The hair extension tip is a square-shaped keratin protein bond. This tip is solid until melted with the Hair Extension Tool. The stylist takes a small section of hair that is equal to the hair extension strand and places the bond over the section. The small plates at the end of the Melting Connector melt and soften the bonds. The stylist uses their fingers to mold and shape the melted keratin around the hair. When it cools, the keratin hardens again, creating a sealed, durable bond.

These small bonds are attached strand by strand. Once finished, the bonds lie completely flat against the head and are covered by the upper layers of hair.

Keratin tips are also great as a hybrid method with Philocaly wefts to fill in smaller sections, such as the front hairline and nape.

"Hey guys, I'm Kelsey!

I've been working with extensions since hair school in 2013 starting with tape-ins and later branching into the world of wefts in 2018, and k-tips in 2021!

I've found a passion in passing along tips & tricks when it comes to extension applications by creating content on social media which has lead me into doing education with stylists.

I'm so excited to share my love for extensions with you and help you add this new service to your menu!"

I took a Philocaly beaded row class and it was by far the best decision I've ever made and best class I've ever taken to level up. Not only have extensions become my primary service offering but I've also doubled my salary within the year. I feel like I have found my best professional self with the beaded row method and have Philocaly to thank!

I love that I was able to get the education virtually without the stress of traveling right now. Kaesha was lovely and very good at teaching! I love that we had a small group so we all got to show her our work and get feedback. There was a great group of girls and I can't wait to work with Philocaly as a company :)

Beaded Row Student

This was my first time ever doing a Zoom class and I was worried I wouldn’t get as good of instruction not having the instructor there in person but Abbey did amazing and everything was very clear and she was very helpful. Im very excited about this new method and type of extensions as I had always used tape-ins before. I ordered my first batch of hair for my first client that evening!

I absolutely loved my Philocaly Zoom class! My educator was phenomenal and extremely thorough. I was a little nervous for this course to be delivered over Zoom but I actually enjoyed it and felt like I gained a much better understanding than I have in other in person classes. Thank you Philocaly!
